KDOT to begin 28.6 mile crack seal project on U.S. 81 from South Haven to Peck

first_imgSumner Newscow report — Starting the week of September 19, the Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a 28.6 mile crack seal project on U.S. 81 Highway in Sumner County, beginning .34 miles north of U.S. 81/U.S. 166 junction north to U.S. 81/K-53 junction (but not through the City of Wellington).Traffic through this work zone will be controlled by flagmen and pilot car, so drivers can expect delays of less than 15 minutes. The work area will move daily and work will be underway during daylight hours only. This preservation project is scheduled to be completed in Mid-October, depending on delays caused by adverse weather conditions.Pavement Pro’s LLC, McPherson is the prime contractor for this $161,000 project, which is funded by T-WORKS, the transportation program passed by the Kansas Legislature.
